Westbourne Help was set up in March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 outbreak to create a network of volunteers to help support local people in need.
It was closed at the end of June 2020 having responded to 112 requests for assistance from 53 households in the Parish and establishing a volunteer base of 118 local residents.
The decision was taken to close the service due to changes in restrictions on movement and relaxation of social distancing measures, along with a drop in requests for help. In addition, there are now well established national and local government schemes that are funded and formally managed to allow people in need to access assistance. Westbourne Help may set up again in future if there is a local need for the service.
