Big Lunch Street Party for the King's Coronation

You are invited to Westbourne's Big Lunch Street Party on Sunday 7 May from 12pm - 3pm to celebrate the King's Coronation. The event will take place on Church Road and Church View in the centre of Westbourne where a silver jubilee street party took place in 1977, and more recently the Platinum Jubilee street party last year.

Please bring a picnic or buy food and drinks from local businesses which you will be able to enjoy at the trestle tables and chairs available for you to use. There will also be music and the road will be decorated with bunting. Come along wearing red, white and blue to really get into the party spirit. There will be a free chocolate or sweet gift for all children.

The Stags Head pub will have an outdoor bar and BBQ on Church Road selling a range of drinks, snacks, burgers, sausages and gyros. We've booked ITV's StarStruck Tamsin Escott to sing from 1pm.

We have been working with local village organisations and groups to plan the event which will be a wonderful community occasion to celebrate a unique milestone in our history. It also builds on the successful street party held last year for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and it is another opportunity to get together and be part of one of the many street parties taking place across the country to celebrate this important national occasion.

If you're holding your own street party, please share you photos at facebook.com/Westbournepc or to clerk@westbourne-pc.gov.uk. We'd love to see how the Parish has celebrated the Coronation.
