Westbourne Parish Council has appointed four tree warden volunteers who play an active role in role in conserving trees and woods in the Parish. The work they carry out is part of the tree warden scheme run by West Sussex County Council.
With approval from the Parish Council, the Tree Wardens recently planted new trees at Monk's Hill recreation ground (the Village Green). The saplings were donated by Havant Tree Wardens and will hopefully flourish for the community of Westbourne to enjoy for many years to come.
The Tree Wardens also aim to plant trees in other areas of the Parish on land along the highways owned by West Sussex County Council. An application process must be followed before any planting is agreed which usually takes place in the autumn.
