Reduce the speed limit at Monk's Hill 

Vehicles driving past the car park, recreation ground and - above all - the children’s playground at Monk’s Hill, Westbourne are currently permitted to travel at speeds of up to 60mph. This is an accident waiting to happen.

We request that West Sussex County Council moves the 30mph speed zone, which begins after the car park, recreation ground and children’s playground, approximately three hundred yards to the north, beyond the bend and the entrance to Meadow View Stables.

Please sign the petition to show community support for this much needed change to improve road safety in our village and help to protect everyone who enjoys using the recreation ground, as well as nearby residents. 

Residents are encouraged to sign the petition which will be presented to Councillor Mike Magill, West Sussex County Councillor for the Bournes Division.

A Traffic Regulation Order request will also be made to West Sussex County Council Highways Department and it is important that we can show community support for the proposed change.
